Services

My practice focuses on helping individuals process difficult emotions and live more meaningful lives, whether you are managing a diagnosed mental health condition, are facing a current stressor, or are simply feeling stuck. I aim to create a non-judgmental space and to be authentic and compassionate in my work. I am dedicated to providing culturally responsive care and welcome clients of diverse backgrounds and identities.

My approach integrates cognitive and behavioral principles, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. I also offer evidence-based trauma-focused therapies, including cognitive processing therapy (CPT) and prolonged exposure (PE). I believe that therapy is most effective when it is tailored to the individual needs, strengths, and values of each client.

Telehealth

Dr. Spitzer’s psychotherapy services are offered remotely via a HIPAA-compliant, secure, and easy-to-use telehealth platform. In-person therapy is not available currently.

Many clients note the benefits of telehealth, including allowing you to receive care from the privacy of your own space, reducing commute and time burden, and decreasing barriers to accessing care.

Insurance and Fees

Like many other treatment providers who specialize in treating those with trauma and anxiety, services are offered only by private pay at this time. Dr. Spitzer is not contracted with any health insurance carriers and thus does not file any insurance claims. Payment is due in full at the time of service. Dr. Spitzer will provide you with a "superbill" that has all of the necessary information required by your insurance company to submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement, should you choose to do so. Typically, out-of-network benefits include a deductible that must be met before partial reimbursement for services are paid by an insurance company. If you plan to seek reimbursement through your insurance company, I encourage you to speak directly with your insurance company regarding benefits coverage and limits (e.g., number of sessions) prior to our initial session.

As a patient, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the cost of non-emergency medical services. For more details, click here.
